Working with the Words
In order to become masters of the sight words, we have to work and play around with them. Pick one of the ideas below, visit the websites or come up with your own activities! Ask someone at home to do the activities with you or try them by yourself. Ask Ms. Shivji if you need help. Enjoy!
- Alpha Order:
- Cut out the words and put them into alphabetical order.
- Word Bag:

- Scavenger Hunt:
- Choose three words and three highlighters (you can borrow highlighters from the classroom). Find a newspaper or magazine and highlight your three words every time you find them.
- Sight Words Apps:
- Download a sight words app that you like to your mobile device and read them aloud while in the car or travelling on the bus. Check these free iPad apps:
- Disappearing Paint:
